Who is Lippielust?

Lippielust began as a one-woman passion project and has grown into Indonesia’s first professional lip swatch studio. Today, we’re a team of creative specialists who produce beauty visuals that are accurate, consistent, and built on real product representation.

We exist to help beauty brands show their products clearly, honestly, and beautifully, without relying on filters or templates. Our work is trusted by both local and international clients who care about how their products are seen and understood.

Why Choose Lippielust?

We connect with a niche audience that genuinely cares about beauty. Since 2014, more than 128,000 lipstick lovers have followed our journey on Instagram, and thousands visit our website every day to read reviews, explore shade guides, and discover new products.

But we do not treat our audience as numbers or shortcuts to sales. They are individuals with different preferences, needs, and buying behavior. That is why we never guarantee conversions. What we offer is trust, clarity, and product storytelling that resonates.

How do you approach every shoot at Lippielust?

We do not just take pictures. We build meaning into every frame.

At Lippielust, every photoshoot starts with a bigger question. What story does this product want to tell, and how can we make people feel it?

Our approach is holistic. We look beyond the surface. From the way a lipstick glides on skin, to the packaging design, to the energy your brand carries, we consider it all. Every shadow, texture, background, and tone is chosen with intention. It is never random. It is never just about looking pretty.

We believe visuals should make sense, feel alive, and carry your brand’s voice without saying a word. That is why we never treat a shoot as something separate. We connect the product, the audience, the emotion, and the identity. That is what makes our work resonate.

This is not just photography. This is creative translation. And we take it personally.

✨ Review

Can you say our product is good without trying it?

We don’t make assumptions or write based on claims. Every review is based on personal use and thorough observation.
For makeup products like lipstick, we need at least one full week of testing. For skincare, we allocate around two to four weeks so we can properly evaluate performance, ingredients, user experience, and any side effects.
Our reviews reflect the actual results we experience during that trial; nothing more, nothing less.

Can you avoid saying anything negative about our product?

We do not label reviews as positive or negative. For us, a review is simply a reflection of how the product works based on our direct experience. There is no influence from outside parties.

We understand that criticism can be uncomfortable. However, we have never written a review with the intent to harm any brand or product. We believe that every product is the result of hard work and good intention.

That said, no product is perfect. Every review will cover both strengths and areas that may need improvement. If something does not work as expected, we will mention it respectfully and constructively. Our goal is not to point fingers, but to offer feedback that helps your brand grow and improve.

✨ Swatches Project

Can you create a photo template for swatches?

We do not use photo templates for swatches. Every lip product is applied directly and photographed one by one to ensure accuracy and true-to-color results.

Please note that the photos we provide are final. Copyright use does not include permission to alter the colors. This means you are not allowed to digitally change the lip color or manipulate any aspect of our swatch photos.

Can we choose the model or skintone?

For lip swatches, we work with a fixed lineup of professional swatchers who are trained to deliver consistent, true-to-color results. Each model represents a specific skintone range and has been carefully selected to ensure accuracy, comfort in front of the camera, and visual clarity.

That said, we understand that every brand has its own identity. If you have a preferred model from our roster who aligns better with your brand’s personality, aesthetic, or target audience, you are welcome to request them. We will confirm availability and adjust the production schedule accordingly.

For larger campaigns or custom productions, we are also open to discussing special casting options with advance notice.

Do you need the product to take the swatches?

Yes, we do. All swatches are created using the actual physical product you provide. We apply each shade manually and photograph it under calibrated lighting to ensure true-to-color results. We do not work from digital mockups, references, or sample visuals. The real product is essential for real results.

Can you follow the swatch references we provide?

We are happy to review references related to poses, angles, or props. These kinds of visual direction help us align with your brand’s aesthetic.

However, we will not follow references that involve the following:

  1. Overly smoothed or unrealistic skin

  2. Requests to lighten or darken skin

  3. Requests to modify our models’ lip shape or texture

  4. Requests to match the lipstick color to a digitally altered reference

  5. Instructions to add extra visual effects that alter the authenticity of the swatch

If your reference includes any of these, we will politely decline the request to protect the integrity of our work and the final result.

Can you edit someone else's works?

No, we cannot. We do not retouch or alter swatches, lip images, or product photos made by other creators, agencies, or studios. Our work is built on accuracy and consistency, and editing someone else’s content would compromise both. If you want swatches that meet our standards, we are happy to produce them from scratch using your original product.

What license applies to the swatch content?

All swatch content produced by Lippielust is licensed for digital use only. This includes use on websites, social media platforms, email newsletters, and other digital brand channels. Marketplace usage, printed assets, or paid advertising rights are not included unless clearly stated in the agreement.

We also do not allow color modification, visual manipulation, or use of the swatches outside the agreed context. For extended usage rights or specific licensing needs, please contact us directly.

✨ Paid Partnership Project

Do you accept paid partnership post?

At the moment, we do not actively offer paid partnership content across our Instagram platforms. Any collaborative content that falls under this category will be clearly marked using Instagram’s official Paid Partnership tag.

When these projects do happen, they are produced with the same level of quality, honesty, and creative direction that our audience expects from us. We maintain full transparency and ensure that the collaboration aligns with both our values and our audience’s trust.

For other forms of content partnerships such as blog placements, reviews, or swatch projects, feel free to get in touch.

✨ Production Process

Why do you need to collect information about our brand and products?

Every brand has its own voice, values, and visual identity. To ensure our content aligns with yours, we ask for product and brand information before we begin production. This helps us stay relevant and intentional with how we present your product.

If there are specific branding elements you do not want us to use, just let us know and we will fully respect that request.

Can we send a brief or moodboard from our side?

Yes, you can. We welcome creative references, especially if they help us understand your brand direction. Feel free to share visual cues, angles, or styling preferences. We will still build a production plan on our end to maintain consistency, but your input will be thoughtfully integrated.

Why does production take time? What happens during that period?

Our production process is not instant, and for good reason. Before we start shooting, we go through several key steps to make sure the outcome is thoughtful and tailored to your brand.

  1. We take time to understand your brand, your product, and the message you want to communicate.

  2. Our creative team holds an internal meeting to build concepts that make your content unique and relevant.

  3. We create a moodboard as a visual reference to guide production. If needed, we also include review and research phases before execution.

This pre-production phase ensures the visuals we create are not only beautiful but also meaningful.

What if we are not happy with the result?

Before any shoot begins, we always finalize the brief through internal meetings and check-ins with your team. This ensures that all creative direction, references, and expectations are locked in before production starts.

Because of this, we do not offer reshoots based on changes in creative direction after the shoot has been completed. If adjustments are needed due to technical issues or errors on our end, we will of course take responsibility and handle them accordingly.

Our goal is always to deliver results that reflect the agreed-upon vision: clearly, consistently, and professionally.
